The Doctrine of Salvation

False Doctrine: Salvation is an instantaneous thing.

Ephesians  2: 1- 10 (KJV)

1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

herein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Romans  10: 9-10, 17 (KJV)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Ephesians  2: 1 – 10 (Amplified Bible)

1 And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins

2 In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the
sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God].

3 Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God’s] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind.

4 But God–so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,

5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).

6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us ]joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in
Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

7 He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.

8 For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

9 Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]

10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good  life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

Romans  10: 9-10, 17 (Amplified  Bible)

Because if you acknowledge and  confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe  (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from  the dead, you will be saved.

10  For with the heart a person  believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is  justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth  he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and  confirms [his] salvation.

17 So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the   preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the  Messiah Himself).

On  the face of it, it sounds as if I am going against everything you  have ever heard or been taught or know.  And YES, I am, because I  promised you that I would study and rightly divide the Word of Truth.  (2 Timothy 2:15)   In a few minutes you will see why I have declared  the doctrine a false doctrine.

Let  us look at the Scripture written by the Apostle Paul (inspired by  God) to the Romans 10.  Verse  9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall  believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, Thou shalt be saved.  Verse10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and  with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  What Paul is saying here is the end result and not the act of salvation itself.  We are spiritually dead when we come into this world because of Adam’s original sin. That is a topic for another day.  Not just  half way dead or almost dead but totally graveyard dead spiritually.  As of this date there is no human man, woman, or child that can raise someone from the dead.  But you say Jesus did.  And I will tell you  that Jesus was God.  And yes, Jesus did raise Lazarus from being graveyard dead.  God in the form of The Holy Spirit must come to you and quicken you (make alive, give life) to your spirit.  How is this done?  He creates in you an interest in you for the bible stories when you were young or  when you were older a curiosity for what the Word of God or “Christians” were saying about sin and you and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:17 clears this up for us.  It says So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.  So then we can only get faith by hearing the Word of God.  No beginner can get this kind of faith by hearing the Word of God for the first time.  We must be taught and understand what we are hearing about God and Jesus and sin to be saved.  When you were first introduced to the Word of God and Christianity, did you instantly believe that Jesus was Lord and Savior?  I can safely answer that for you, no.  My reasoning is simple.  It takes a while with a steady “diet” of the Word of God for faith to come.  It took me til my 19th year to learn that there was such a thing as salvation.  Yes, I had heard that Jesus could save you.  Intellectually I believed this however it just did not click.  It did not get into my soul.  It  was not until I was out on my own and had turned 19 that The Holy spirit “quickened” my soul and I became spiritually alive that I understood my need to repent and ask for forgiveness of my sins.  It was then that I was truly saved.  I had accepted Jesus Christ at a younger age, but I did not believe him to be my savior.  I took him to be the Son of God who would one day save the world and because I believed that; I was going to heaven.  It was not until I was truly saved that my heart, ears, eyes, and mind were opened to the truth of the Gospel.  It is just recently that I am learning the true Biblical Doctrines.  I had learned the man made “Biblical Doctrines”, these were made so that man could justify his religion and beliefs no matter how biblically incorrect they are.  Now I am learning the true and correct Biblical Doctrines.

In conclusion the confession with your mouth that you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and Savior and your sins are forgiven and you are saved is the end result of a process of Salvation that may have taken months, even years in some cases, to complete. The Biblical Doctrine of Salvation is NOT
an instantaneous process that occurs in a matter of minutes or seconds, but a continuous work over time that culminates in a person confessing that Jesus is Lord and that he or she has been saved.

According to Wecanknow.com it is. And what is their evidences? They say it is in the Bible. They claim that God was specific what he told Daniel, in chapter 8 of the Book of Daniel, and then ordered him to seal up the “Book” it was written in; Daniel 12:4 , and in verse 9 God told Daniel to go his way because the words were sealed to the end of time. Then they skip over to Revelation 5: 1-9 and reveal that the sealed book is to be opened by Jesus. There are 7 seals. They only deal with the Seventh seal in Revelation 8:1. I wonder why? Is it because they cannot explain what happened to the other seals and what they contained? Like The Anti-Christ. The first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse The other three being War, Financial ruin, and Death and Hades(hell). Why is it that they can explain that the Bible says that the great Tribulation started on May 21, 1988 and for twenty three years that according to them the “Great Tribulation” was to occur and that for 2300 days (6.30 years) “that, both in the churches and through out the world very few, if any, were saved.” And they went on to say that “During the first 2300 days of the 8400 day period (23 years) the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from all of the churches as well as the entire world, insofar as salvation is concerned.” And because of this it produced a silence in heaven. Which refers to the Seventh seal of Revelation 8:1. My question is where and who is the Anti-Christ? When did he appear on the scene? Where and when did the financial ruin start? And what happen to the destroying of ¼ of the earth by the “sword”(war), famine, pestilence, and wild beast. The 5th seal is the martyrs under the throne and what happened to them. The 6th seal is the world wide earthquake, when did this happen and when did the sun turn black and the full moon become like blood? Also when did the sky vanish like as scroll being rolled up. When were every mountain and island moved from its place. When did the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hide themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” When did all of this happen?

Accordingly they also produce Ecclesiastes 8:5 Whoever keeps a command will know no evil thing, and the wise heart will know the proper time and the just way. (ESV) However if you read the whole paragraph you will find that the intent of this passage is for those subject to the King to not question his motives or orders. King Solomon was not a prophet and this verse is not a prophesy that wise men (true believers as they call them) will in the future know the time and the day of the return of Christ. Solomon was more concerned in ruling his kingdom than in knowing the first Advent of Christ and much less predicting that wise men (“true believers”) would know when Christ was coming again. They forget that this book among others was written by the son of King David. Solomon was the name of the writer of Ecclesiastes. If they had read verses 6 and 7 they would not have made the claim that verse 5 tells us that a wise man (true believer) will know the day and time of the return of Jesus Christ. They are just as silly in their pick and choose verse selection to support a “Doctrine” as the Word of Faith leaders. One of the rules of English is to read the whole passage (paragraph)to discern (know) what it is all about. Another rule is that unless it is a poem the first sentence sets the tone of the whole paragraph. The first sentence of the paragraph, which is also the whole chapter, is Ecclesiastes 8:1 Who is like the wise?… So Solomon asked who is like the wise. In that day who was like the WISE KING SOLOMON. There was know one like him and he knew it. In fact you would be hard pressed to find anyone as wise as him even today. It amazes me how many people use history, poetry and kingly advice of the Old Testament to support a crazy doctrine and or belief.

These people insinuate that those who are in the Churches are not and never will be saved. And I quote from their writing “NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR?”;

“Christ and Judgment day come in the night. In 1 Thessalonians 5:3 Christ tells us. “When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them.” Because destruction comes upon them, we can know for certain that these people are not saved. Being unsaved, they are in spiritual darkness. They are in the night. Judgment Day is coming for them as a “thief in the night.” Yet they believe they are at peace with God and safely under His care. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

“The language of this verse describes perfectly all of those in the world who on May 21, 2011 are still identified with any church. Because churches teach many things that are not true to the Bible they are under the judgment of God. (1 Peter 4:17). Therefore, according to the warning of 1 Thessalonians 5 : 1-4 we mus t realize that they are not saved.

Remember, churches teach their members that:

  1. They as confessing members of their church are safely in Christ’s care.
  2. No man can know the day or hour of Christ’s return. Therefore, they are certain that Christ will come as a thief in the night.

These dear people do not realize at all that they, themselves are in spiritual nighttime, a condition that when Christ comes they, themselves, will be destroyed in the Day of Judgment. How awful! It is the true believers who know the time (hour) and much about Judgment Day (the day). There not in the nighttime of spiritual darkness.”

First of all Christ did not say anything is 1 Thessalonians at all!  Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians not Christ; unless they are saying that the Apostle Paul is Christ. Second of all if they are going to quote scripture they need to quote it right. It is not When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them. This passage of scripture reads 1Thessalonians 5:3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (ESV)

Third of all what Version of The Bible are they using I cannot find a version that cuts off the words in mid-sentence. That tells me that they like the Word of Faith preachers and teachers are taking things out of context to support their doctrines and beliefs. This is called a different gospel. The Apostle Paul warns in 2 Corinthians and Galatians that there are those who will come teaching and preaching a different gospel. (2 Corinthians 11 and Galatians 1)

This prediction of May 21, 2011 being when Christ will return and that on October 21, 2011 the world as we know it will end is a different gospel, and through the christian world should be treated as such. We, those who are Christians, should proclaim these people, whoever they are, as false prophets and charlatans. They publish these papers on the internet and will not identify themselves so that we may know what their credentials are. They hide behind the auspices of Family Radio based out of Oakland, California and proclaim what they will to support their strange beliefs and doctrines.

These wise men that are in the Bible that they say are “true believers” where did they come up with that? In the Hebrew language of the Old Testament and in Ecclesiastes 8 specificly the word for wise is Chakam, which means intelligent, artful, skillful and cunning. The word man as used in Ecclesiastes 8 is the Hebrew word, adam, which means human being, mankind. And Heart as used in Ecclesiastes 8 is the Hebrew word, leb which means the intellect, the mind. I find in that there is nowhere in the Hebrew language that Wise Man means “true believer.” I also looked up the words in the Greek language used in the New Testament for wise man or men which is the plural of man in the English language. I found that the word for wise is magos or Magi (plural of magos), which means scientist, intelligent, wise man and the word for man or men is anthropos, which means human being. They clearly have not done what they profess in referring to 2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (KJV) They have not studied rightly dividing the word of God. I know if you are going to publish something as biblical and as a doctrine then you need to study the Word of God to rightly divide the Word of Truth, so that what you publish will be in line with the character and nature of both God and Jesus Christ.

If I Am Lying…

Exo 20:16 ESV

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

What does bearing false witness mean?  And just who is my neighbor?

Bearing false witness means not telling the truth about someone or something.  In other words you are lying!!!  And yes lying of any kind is a sin.  Not only because you are breaking one of the commandments but you are also possibly hurting the person you are telling the falsehood about or the person you are telling it to.  You are also hurting your character.   Who is going to think you have a good character if you are caught lying about someone or something.  Besides publishing a lie by written word is slander and publishing a lie through the spoken media is defamation of character.  In this great country of ours you can be taken to court and sued for both of these offenses.  They are not against the criminal law in this country however it is against the civil law and you can suffer upto and including heavy fines and damage awards the offended party and depending on the severity of the offense may spend some time in jail.  The latter is at the discretion of the Judge presiding over the court case.

As to who is my neighbor,  according to the Bible any person any where can be your neighbor.  Not just the person who lives next door to you or in your neighborhood but everyone everywhere is your neighbor.   So if you bear false witness about anyone (lie about anyone) you are doing it about your neighbor.  That is a S I N.

If Life Is A Bowl Of Cherries, What Am I Doing In The Pitts?”* (aka) Christian Suffering

Gen 3:14-19 ESV

(14) The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.

(15) I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

(16) To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”

(17) And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

(18) thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.

(19)By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

1Pe 4:12-16 ESV

(12) Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

(13) But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

(14) If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

(15) But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler.

(16) Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

Mat 5:44-45 ESV

(44)But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

(45) so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Rom 2:11 KJV

(11)For there is no respect of persons with God.

Why do I suffer illness and lack? I have asked this many times in my life. The answer lies in what happened thousands of years ago in the Garden of Eden when the Serpent convinced Eve to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It is simple, it is called “original sin”. Therefore but for “grace” given to us through Jesus Christ we have no right to anything in the Kingdom of God. Not even eternal life. Jesus as quoted in Matthew 5:44-45 told us that He allows things to happen to both the good and evil, the just and unjust. According to this we are not promised a “Rose garden” when we believe and commit our lives to Jesus. Just so you know Jesus also indicated in this passage the the evil and unjust receive the same from God the Father. It is in our nature to want what is good and never have anything happen to us however that is not how it works. Because of Adam and Eve sin entered the world and with it came pestilence and disease. We men were cursed with toiling for our “living” and women would have pain in childbearing. God did not say that if we turned to Him, He would relieve us from our sufferings. He granted us entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven if we gave up our sin and accepted His Son Jesus the Christ as our savior and master in this life. Now where in the Christian Bible or the Douay Reams Bible that the Roman Catholics use did Jesus say that if you believed on Him and accepted Him as savior that He would miraculously heal us, take away our sufferings and give us a rosy, profitable life here on earth. He did say that He would cover our sins with His blood. And on the cross he fulfilled that Promise. When He comes again and gathers his church together and takes them out of this world we will no longer suffer. Then when He takes Satan and has him bound and thrown in the pit will he put an end to all disease and suffering.

So until the time that Jesus returns we must stay steadfast and proceed on as He would have us do.

Father in Heaven, We know that you see our sufferings. Grant us peace in you, so that we may carry on in our appointed work for you. AMEN!

The Prosperity Doctrine is it False or True?

Malachi 3:10 KJV

(10)Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

3 John 1:2 KJV

(2) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

These are two of many scriptures taken out of context to support the Doctrine of Prosperity. Let us examine the first scripture, Malachi 3:10. It is just part of what the Prophet was telling the Nation of Israel; in particular the Levites who ran the temple. This tithe that is referred to went to:

  1. Feed the widows and orphans.
  2. Feed the Levites.
  3. Fund the Temple (church).
  4. Fund the government.

This tithe was meant exclusively for the Israelites and was not carried over when Jesus brought about the New Covenant by His death on the Cross and His Resurrection. This verse of scripture is just part of the prophet’s admonishment of God’s chosen people, Israel and Judea, that covers four chapters. It is not meant to set doctrine for the new covenant church under Jesus Christ

Now let us look at the other scripture that I have cited. This is the second verse of the Letter of the Apostle John to his friend and brother in Christ, Gaius. John, who calls himself the Elder in this letter, loves Gaius like a son; therefore he calls him beloved. This is the singular form of the word because of the usage in this passage of scripture and is directed at just one person, Gaius. There are other passages of scripture where beloved is plural and is directed at many. The amazing thing about this letter is that like the last scripture I cited it is directed to someone specific and not to everyone or a group of Christians. It has some very specific instructions in it.

The first four verses are a greeting to Gaius himself and not meant for anything else. Lets see what it would be like to translate those same four verses into today’s vernacular. First the first four verses and then my translation into today’s vernacular.

3Jn 1:1-4 ESV

 (1) The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

 (2) Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

 (3) For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth.

(4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Yo, Gaius, my love to you in Christ bro. I hope your trip is well and that you are fly and the same with your walk in Christ. I am up for you and that the bro’s told me of the things that you do are straight and you are in the truth. It is fly that my young bros are doing this thing tripping in the truth.

Now where is the prosperity in that? That is exactly what John was saying. But if you do not by that how about this translation from the older generation of today?

Dear Gaius,

I love you like a brother in Christ Jesus. I hope every thing on your journey is going as well as it is in your walk with Christ and that you are growing with him. I was over joyed when I heard the news that the Christian brothers brought of you. I fills my heart to hear that ones that are like sons and daughters to me are constantly walking in the way of The Lord Jesus Christ.

Again where is the prosperity in that? There is none.  John wrote this letter the way that he did was for a specific reason. At that time Christians every where were being persecuted for their faith, especially in the Roman empire. Now we don’t know where Gaius was traveling. And since Gaius would have been a Roman Citizen it was much more important that he travel as one and not reveal that he was a Christian. Gaius was a common Roman name just like James, John and Steven are common English language names today.

Now that we have looked at what is not Biblical Doctrine and truth let us look at some truths.

Mat 17:24-27 ESV

(24) When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?”

(25) He said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?” (26) And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.

(27) However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”

Some Prosperity teachers and preachers say that Jesus was rich and that he had a treasurer. (Judas Iscariot) How come then when questioned about paying taxes did he tell Peter to go fishing and the first fish that he would catch to look in it’s mouth and find a shekel to pay the taxes for them both. Why did he not turn to Judas (his supposed treasurer) and ask for the amount needed to pay the taxes? The reason, they (including Jesus) did not have any money!  They were, for all intents and purposes, poor.

Luke 9:58 ESV

(58) And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

Now some of the same teachers and preachers have said that Jesus had a house in Jerusalem. If that was so then why did Jesus say that He had nowhere to lay His head? Is Jesus a liar and these teachers and preachers telling the truth? I think not. Just like God it is impossible for Jesus to lie!

Mat 26:11 ESV For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.

Mar 14:7 ESV For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me.

John 12:8 ESV For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

Above are three verses recorded in three different Gospels where Jesus declared that “the poor would be with us always.” He did not say that we would have the poor and sinful with us always and that the Christians would be rich always. Jesus said that we would have the poor with us always.

There are many more examples that the Doctrine of Prosperity is a false doctrine and that the doctrine goes against the Word of God. There will be some out there that will try to call me out and say that what I am saying is not true and that I am attacking ministers and their ministries. I am just making a case for the truth.
